Quote of the Week

APRIL 21ST
God's Word is living and powerful (Heb4:12), and this realization has carried Christians throughout the ages, in persecution, hardship and peace. Today, added to the written Word is the fulfilled word, the prophetic word concerning Israel. We see hard evidence of the validity of God's Word right in front of our eyes; Israel is in the Promised Land, again! A real boost to our faith. Yet so many others before us did not have this. They simply had God's Word.  John Wycliffe, William Tyndale, Jan Hus! These men, and many others,
perished for the Word of God. ~ Pastor Rick
FromWednesdayEvening ~ Jonah 2

APRIL 13TH
Eternal Life is a reward, not for doing but for receiving, and that by faith.
From Sunday Morning ~ Luke 18:15-30

APRIL 7TH
Some feel that they do the church a favor by helping out. These have not yet realized that MINISTRY DOES NOT EXIST FOR US; WE EXIST FOR MINISTRY. ~Pastor Rick

MARCH 31ST
The Bible never promotes self-esteem, that raised opinion of self. This is something the psychologist and psychiatrist have cooked up for society and society has gobbled it up. God says the opposite; He says man has too much self-esteem and must repent. We have so much self-esteem that we sin to satisfy our own interest! Sin is self-exaltation. Scripture says humble yourselves under the mighty hand of God, that He may exalt you in due time (1Pe 5:6). God alone lifts the soul to its proper place.
From Sunday Morning ~ Luke 18:9-13

MARCH 24TH
We are to be child-like not childish in our faith; this is the character that demonstrates citizenship in heaven. ~ Pastor Rick
From Sunday Morning ~ Luke 18:15-3

MARCH 17TH
You don’t need religion to reject God, and you can have religion and reject God. Just settle for views about God with no basis, with no truth. ~ Pastor Rick
From Sunday Morning ~ Luke 18:9-13

March 10TH
When I get to heaven and turn in my armor it's going to be dented up, covered in blood, sweat, and still smoldering because I was in the fight. I won’t go to heaven with my armor still in its box. ... With God's help it will be so.
Fridays with Pastor Rick

March 2ND
The next dose of a tossing wind which a great many undiscerning souls will embrace will be the movie The Shack. This is a distortion of the Trinity and standards of salvation. While it is skillfully served it is false nonetheless and therefore harmful. I'm hoping Christians will stand strong and not be bewitched and try to salvage or defend anything from this sinister move of the enemy in movie form to lessen God's word. " ... we should no longer be children, tossed to and fro and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the trickery of men, in the cunning craftiness of deceitful plotting" Eph 4:14. ~ Pastor Rick [See also: Col 2:8-10; 2Co 11:4; Gal 1:6-7]

FEBRUARY 24TH
How many of us want all the blessings of our faith but without walking with the Lord, without sacrifice in the walk? All of us! Yet we must walk with and sacrifice with Him nonetheless. ~ Pastor Rick
From Sunday Morning ~ Luke 18:15-30

FEBRUARY 16TH
To cherish self-esteem leads to lower views of others, because you have to maintain that esteemed view. You have to stay up there, and to do that you have to have someone down there to compare yourself to. ~ Pastor Rick
From Sunday Morning ~ Luke 18:9-13

FEBRUARY 10TH
Sometimes a newly planted tree needs to be cabled to encourage it to grow upright. Guy-cables are used to force upright growth. We’re not much different and the word of God is that guy-cable which leads to upright growth.~ Pastor Rick
From Sunday Morning ~ Luke 18:9-13

FEBRUARY 3RD
It is not possible for a man to save his own soul, ever. He needs a Savior and that Savior's name is Jesus Christ. ~ Pastor Rick
From Sunday Morning ~ Luke 18:15-30

JANUARY 27TH
Emotions are like fire, helpful when on the stove, destructive when on the curtains. ~ Pastor Rick

JANUARY 20TH
His delay (in answering prayer) does not signal his disinterest. ~ Pastor Rick
From Sunday Morning ~ Luke 18:1-8

JANUARY 13TH

You are God’s sword. You are God’s instrument. Yes, the Word of God is the sword of God, but He puts it in your hands. You and I become the sword. We are chosen vessels of God to bear His name and preach His Word. ~ Pastor Rick
From a Topical Message ~ Holiness Upon the Soul Exodus 15:11
JANUARY 6TH

Holiness is like manna in the morning. It’s there, but it doesn’t stay there. You have to get it, and then the next day the process repeats. Every day that you are in the wilderness of this life this process must take place.~ Pastor Rick
From a Topical Message ~ Holiness Upon the Soul Exodus 15:11

DECEMEBER 30TH
In times of great loss we may feel cheated, broken, betrayed by God. This is grief. It may be overwhelming. But there’s nowhere to go for the believer but bitterness or praise. ~Pastor Rick
From a Topical Message ~ Holiness Upon the Soul Exodus 15:11

DECEMBER 23RD
He is more thorough at cleansing us from sin, than we are at defiling ourselves from sin. ~ Pastor Rick

From Wednesday Evening ~ Amos 1

DECEMBER 16TH

Peace for the believer in this life is a time of preparation for trouble that will come later. ~Pastor Rick
From a Topical Message ~ Holiness Upon the Soul Exodus 15:11

DECEMBER 8TH

It was said of the prodigal son in Jesus' parable ... and no one gave him anything (Lk 15:16). Concerning truth about God the same thing can be said about gaining it from the world, those without Jesus Christ. The world will give no truth about God Himself. They can give us truth about the things God has created. They can give us truth about the ocean and the sky, from what they’ve gathered. They cannot tell us about Him, about God Himself. We will never get that from the world. If you depend on the world to feed you truth about God, then the same words will apply to you: no one gave him anything. The world gives us nothing true about the Father, Son or Holy Spirit. ~ Pastor Rick
From Sunday Morning ~ Luke 15:11-24

DECEMBER 2ND
Outsiders to Jesus Christ are not going to be comfortable with the truth, but that doesn't mean we've lost their attention. When we share the Love and the Grace of God, along with the judgment to come, the full weight of truth bears down upon them.  It compels them to make a decision, whether to come to the feast that Christ has prepared and to take the invitation that He has extended. ~ Pastor Rick
From Sunday Morning ~ Luke 15:11-24

NOVEMBER 25TH
Repentance is often a journey, a voyage we may take as we get to the place of realization before God and His truth. And this is why we hear Jesus say, I gave you space to repent. ~ Pastor Rick
From Sunday Morning ~ Luke 15:11-24

NOVEMBER 18TH

We are surrounded by those in the world who don’t agree with us. In fact they are very hostile towards us. Yet they are not the enemy, but they are targets. This is a paradox. We are not targeting them to hurt them; we are targeting them to preach Christ's salvation to them. ~ Pastor Rick
Sunday Morning Topical “Delivered from Evil” ~ 1 Corinthians 16:9

NOVEMBER 11TH
None of us are perfect, but that doesn’t mean we don’t pursue perfection nonetheless, for so we are commanded. ~Pastor Rick

From Sunday Morning - Luke 14:15-24

OCTOBER 21TH
How does the unbeliever hear the Gospel unless someone preaches it to them? How do believers preach unless they are sent? We are to be those preachers of The Gospel. ~Pastor Rick
From Sunday Morning Topical ~ Made Fit to Serve - Zechariah 3:4

OCTOBER 14TH
Those who tire of hearing the scripture's messages are the ones for whom Satan is really looking. ~ Pastor Rick
From Sunday Morning Topical ~ Made Fit to Serve - Zechariah 3:4

How does the unbeliever hear the Gospel unless someone preaches it to them? How do believers preach unless they are sent? We are to be those preachers of the Gospel. ~ Pastor Rick
From Sunday Morning Topical ~ Made Fit to Serve - Zechariah 3:4

OCTOBER 7th
If you confess Christ as your Lord and Savior, you must endeavor to live the separated life. You’re not free to live as the world lives. You're not free to do the things the world does, not without conscience biting you, because of Whom you serve. We are to live as though holiness means something to us. ~ Pastor Rick
From Sunday Morning Topical ~ Made Fit to Serve - Zechariah 3:4

SEPTEMBER 30th
No warning in scripture is light.  Each warning is profound; each one is serious. Ignoring them can be catastrophic. ~ Pastor Rick

Bitterness towards God is always of the Devil. It is a severe condition. It is not something to be dismissed. It is a serious thing when the heart begins to harden against God. ~ Pastor Rick
From Sunday Morning - Luke 13:10-17

SEPTEMBER 1ST
God is not adorable, He is to be adored. ~ Pastor Rick

AUGUST 19TH
To get to know Him, you have to love Him. ~ Pastor Rick

AUGUST 11TH
It’s sinful because it's harmful. It’s not sinful because God has prohibited it. God prohibited it because it is harmful. ~ Pastor Rick
From Wednesday Evenings ~ Hosea 2

AUGUST 5TH
What’s going on in your life, that’s biography. God takes that and uses it for ministry. Whether it is something joyful or something sorrowful, God uses it, and out of that lives are saved, souls are made stronger and work gets done for the Kingdom. ~ Pastor Rick
From Wednesday Evenings - Hosea 2

JULY 29TH
If Marriage were simple then the vows wouldn’t be neccessary. ~ Pastor Rick
From A Shepherd's Heart

July 21ST
Idols don’t speak at all. They are just a piece of stone or wood or whatever they are made from. They’re inanimate. But the one who holds the idol has told themselves that the idol is active on their behalf.  Alive!  In reality it represents something that is false, harmful to their soul, and demonic, though the one holding it refuses to believe this truth as they clutch to their idol. Scripture frequently makes this truth clear, "The idols speak delusions …" (Zec 10:2, cf. 1Co 10:20-21; Isa 44:9; Jer 14:22; Hab 2:18, et al.) ~ Pastor Rick
From Wednesday Evenings - Ezekiel 34

July 15TH

There are those who attend church only to blend in. They learn Christian language, but are sort of spiritual sociopaths. They know what to say but they don’t mean any of it. They are not sincere when they say that they love the Lord. ~ Pastor Rick
From Wednesday Evenings - Ezekiel 35-36

JULY 8TH
There is no list of ingredients on every box of trouble that comes my way, but God is on His throne and I am safe before Him (See Ps 91). ~ Pastor Rick
From Wednesday Evenings - Ezekiel 34

JULY 1ST
We have a general election coming up, quite possibly between a Jezebel and a Nebuchadnezzar. I’ll take Nebuchadnezzar. Jezebel had an agenda to wipe the land clean of godliness. Nebuchadnezzar, he just enjoyed being the rich king. While he was an unrighteous man, he got saved. So keep that in mind on your way to casting your vote. ~ Pastor Rick
From Wednesday Evenings - Ezekiel 34

JUNE 24TH
The capacity for man to resist God is immeasurable. ~ Pastor Rick
From Wednesday Evenings - Ezekiel 38

JUNE 17TH
Without the Resurrection everything about Christ would have fallen off the pages of history. His miracles would have become hearsay, His teachings marginalized, His disciples would have vanished, but He did rise again and His work continues. ~ Pastor Rick
From Sunday Mornings ~ The Resurrection - Salvation's Foundation - 1 Corinthians 15:17

JUNE 9TH
Christ only died for one type of person, and that's the bad one, and that's all of us. (Romans 5:6) ~ Pastor Rick
From Sunday Mornings ~ The Resurrection - Salvation's Foundation - 1 Corinthians 15:17

JUNE 3RD
I want to serve the Lord with all He has given to me. For if He owns me then the little bit that I have becomes a lot in His hands, since He alone multiplies the little fish and little bread. ~ Pastor Rick
From Sunday Mornings ~ He Sought Me Out - 2 Timothy 1:17

MAY 27TH
Bitterness is always burning. It's like an internal Chernobyl. ~ Pastor Rick
From A Shepherd's Heart

MAY 20TH
Junk religion hurts humanity all the time. It is the delight of demons, the harm of humans. God says, "You sacrifice your children.  Then you want to come and pray to Me? I’m not interested." (Eze 20:31)  And so how many people out there think they talk to God and they don’t because they practice such junk, man-made religion... But it’s not tricky.  We can tell you why; you don’t have a right relationship with Him. ~ Pastor Rick
From Wednesday Evening ~ Ezekiel 19-20

MAY 13TH
Your personal war will end with your reward if you persevere, if you don’t quit.  We never have a reason to quit!  We never have a reason to stop trusting in Jesus! ~ Pastor Rick
From Sunday Morning ~ Personal War - Galatians 5:17

MAY 5TH
You can never charge God with wrong and be right. ~Pastor Rick
From Wednesday Evening ~ Ezekiel 33

APRIL 29TH
Quote of the Week:
To get to hell, in the face of the gospel, one has to be determined. One has to insist that God shut His mouth and go away. It takes a Spirit-filled life to overcome such damning ideas… ~ Pastor Rick

APRIL 22ND
Religious guessing about Jesus Christ has never been out of style. To this day it is practiced – unfortunately to the doom of so many souls. "And it happened, as He was alone praying, that His disciples joined Him, and He asked them, saying, 'Who do the crowds say that I am?' " Lk 9:18 ~ Pastor Rick
From the Archives

APRIL 16TH
You know it is very easy to step into a pulpit and use the Bible to beat sinners up. It requires the Holy Spirit to teach, how to teach, from the Scripture to build sinners up – sinners saved by grace and hopefully sinners to be saved by grace. ~ Pastor Rick
From Wednesday Evening ~ Ezekiel 17-18

APRIL 8TH
Science is nothing more than men discovering and tinkering with the things God has made available. ~ Pastor Rick
From Resurrection Sunday ~ "The Resurrection - Salvation's Foundation"  1 Corinthians 15:17

If you don’t see God as holy, as pure, undefiled – then how could you ever see yourself for who you are in His presence, and in need for a Savior? – Pastor Rick
From Wednesday Evening ~ Ezekiel 17-18

MARCH 25TH
Routine in ministry hurts the Devil. ~ Pastor Rick
From Wednesday Evening ~ Ezekiel 17-18

MARCH 18TH
Failure will either paralyze you or educate you. The choice is up to you. ~ Pastor Rick
From Sunday Morning ~ Luke 9:37-50

MARCH 11TH
A great difference between the saved soul and the lost soul is that the lost soul does not want Christ to be right or true — the saved are left on earth to help these lost ones get over their defective spiritual views by preaching the truth — so let's give 'em Jesus. ~Pastor Rick
From the Archives

MARCH 4TH
If we abide in Jesus Christ we will always be alienated by the world; we will always be outcast, otherwise what Gospel do we preach? What soul will be saved from judgment without conviction of their sin and surrender to the Christ? What one thing have we to give that the world does not already have? Truth is the answer! The truth about God, the truth about mankind, and the truth of how to have peace with God through His Only Begotten Son! ~ Pastor Rick
From the Archives

FEBRUARY 26TH
Satan wants to make the gospel sound like fiction so that it can be rejected as the truth. He wants to eternally destroy every single person on this earth — and that will do it if you fall for it. ~ Pastor Rick
From the archives

FEBRUARY 19TH
Hell is populated by those who wanted the Bible to be a myth, and so is earth! Yet Christ has changed lives and life on earth like no human could, and He is not done yet! ~ Pastor Rick
From the archives

FEBRUARY 12TH
Sin has made man a fiasco in motion. Mankind is not now what God intended it to be. But God has done something about this through Jesus Christ and Him alone. The greatest part of God’s plan begins when He calls us home. ~ Pastor Rick – from the archives

FEBRUARY 5TH
There is no fix-it-yourself kit for sinners. All must come by faith to Jesus Christ, for there is no other, and they must remain with Him. Each one must in this life stand before Him and repent or be damned after this life. It's up to you; none can blame God since He gives the invitation: "Come and be saved," or, "Reject and be lost." (Jn 5:40; Lk 6:47; Lk 13:3,5). ~ Pastor Rick

JANUARY 29TH
The Word of God is offensive to all sinners until the moment that they repent. ~ Pastor Rick
From Sunday Morning ~ Luke 8:16-25

JANUARY 22ND
Nowhere is Satan more active than where the word of God is being sown. ~ Pastor Rick
From Sunday Morning ~ Luke 8:16-25

JANUARY 15TH

As long as there is life in man, there's a chance for his soul to be right with God. ~ Pastor Rick
From Sunday Morning ~ Luke 8:16-25

JANUARY 8TH
Those who major in minors tend to trip on what is not there. ~ Pastor Rick
From Sunday Morning ~ Luke 8:16-25

JANUARY 1ST
It cost John the Baptist his head for standing up to sexual impurity. Is the church supposed to do less than John? ~ Pastor Rick
From Sunday Morning ~ Sin, Lies and Truth - 2 Peter 2:1-2

DECEMBER 24TH
To love truth is to be able to identify deceit. ~ Pastor Rick
From Sunday Morning ~ Sin, Lies and Truth

DECEMBER 18TH
God's word is a lamp to our feet. Some have lost sight of this. The word of God is not so special to them anymore. Trouble has found them for one reason or another; though they've done nothing to invite it, it has come nonetheless. Now they are throwing the word out because it failed to safeguard them from hardship. They have demoted God's word in their heart. The Bible no longer means what it once meant to them, as they supposed it would act as a rabbit's foot, warding off evil. Only when we realize that Christianity is a bloody religion, that pain and wounds belong with the cross, are we shielded from disillusionment. The truth is that the truths of God's word reach beyond this life. ~Pastor Rick
From Sunday Morning ~ Luke 4:8-13

DECEMBER 11TH
As Sodomy is being given special status in this country, it is important to remember that there was more to the wickedness of ancient Sodom than sexual perversion, yet not without it. There is a correlation. Their brand wickedness included intimidating the righteous and making them feel defeated—they enjoyed it. Don't you give in to it. Defy wickedness with the breastplate of righteousness. "And having done all, to stand. Stand therefore." ~ Pastor Rick
From Sunday Morning ~ Luke 3:16-38

DECEMBER 3RD
Because so many churches have abandoned the Word of God, apostasy is running rampant. We are living in a time where we see the great apostasy of the end times taking shape unlike ever before. Churches are abandoning the Word of God for the word of culture and are mighty defensive of their attempts to conform Scripture to their tastes. Don't accommodate them!  ~ Pastor Rick
From Sunday Morning ~ Luke 3:16-38

NOVEMBER 27TH
I think it's a very sad thing when a professed Christian goes to a church that is not feeding them the Word of God. But they stay there nonetheless because that’s where their friends are, that’s where their family attends, and that’s where they’re "plugged in." The Scripture says the Lord is my Shepherd, that He leads me beside the still waters, that He makes me to lie down in green pastures so I can eat and be nourished, and in so doing He restores my soul. God wants His sheep to be well fed and well watered. He doesn’t lead us to dirt fields or deserts for us to starve. Shepherds lead the flocks to where the food is. ~ Pastor Rick
From Sunday Morning ~ Luke 3:16-38

NOVEMBER 20TH

It is your carnal fallen nature that is attracted to sin. Nothing else in the born again Christian is attracted to sin, just that old nature. ~ Pastor Rick
From Sunday Morning ~ Luke 3:16-38

NOVEMBER 13TH
To walk around bemoaning the victories of the devil only invigorates him. Waste no time being sorry about the temporary victories of Satan. Instead, spend the time attacking his interest. Put him on defense through your life—or death. ~ Pastor Rick
From Sunday Morning ~ Luke 3:16-38

NOVEMEBER 6TH
By “Old School,” I’m mean the days and ways of the apostles. We know what they and the Christians had, anointing. They were willing to suffer for preaching Christ, and they often did. ~ Pastor Rick
From Wednesday Evening ~ Isaiah 3 & 4

OCTOBER 30TH
Spiritual Attitude sets spiritual altitude. ~Pastor Rick
From Sunday Morning ~ Luke 3:16-38

OCTOBER 23RD
Antichrists have always lulled souls to sleep by giving them wine and circus. This is how the Devil keeps distracted souls distracted. As long as they are occupied, righteousness and eternity are secondary. ~ Pastor Rick
From Sunday Morning ~ The Wrath of the Lamb - Revelation 6:16

OCTOBER 16TH
Truth does not ask to be accepted, it forces all who come in contact with it to make a decision. Truth never asks for permission to be truth. ~ Pastor Rick
From Sunday Morning ~ Luke 3:16-38

OCTOBER 9TH
The Barbarians are no longer at the gate, they're in the city. They're everywhere. We have barbarians in lab coats, we have barbarians in suits, we have barbarians in union garb and skinny jeans, and we have barbarians in the universities. But we also have stalwart Christians to meet them head on with truth and love and we have them right now! ~ Pastor Rick
From Sunday Morning ~ The Wrath of the Lamb - Revelation 6:16

OCTOBER 2ND
All the characters we meet in the Bible, we meet in life in one way or another. From Cain who murdered his brother over religion, to Delilah who betrayed her paramour.  Or King David who impassionedly sang of his love for God to Paul who lived and died for the King of Kings. All characters in life will one day meet Jesus Christ face to face. Some to everlasting life; some to everlasting doom. The choice is always up to the individual. ~ Pastor Rick

SEPTEMBER 25TH
I ask, these people who were caught dealing in baby parts, (the ghouls of Planned Parenthood), do you think their conscious has been seared? Do you think that some of them and their advocates attend some apostate/liberal church somewhere with a congregation of seared conscience dead souls? I do! What, beyond prayer, must I do when faced with such darkness? Bring the Light and stand in it! Don't back up a speck's worth of space from standing against fiendish perspectives; preach to their souls! ~ Pastor Rick
From Sunday Morning ~ The Wrath of the Lamb - Revelation 6:16

SEPTEMBER 18TH
Sin in our present culture is so advanced that it is inviting the wrath of the Lamb. This must be a great part of our message to all who are ignorantly siding with Satan. Unlike ever before, because of activist homosexuality, invasive Islam, dishonest climatologists, Christ-hating universities, etc., mankind is tracking towards rapid judgment. We have amongst us a world of people determined to impale themselves on the Word of God, which is the sword of God's expressed truth. They are determined to mock Him, to side against Him, to pick a losing fight with Him. Brazen dealers of the sickest injustices, denials, and spins. A society that is unmoved by the ghoulish deeds of Planned Parenthood. Christians must attack the conscience of the lost with the gospel of the saved.
~Pastor Rick
From Sunday Morning ~ The Wrath of the Lamb - Revelation 6:16

SEPTEMBER 11TH
What do you live for? What are you about? Each one must answer this for themselves. I would like to say that my answer to God would be without hesitation, "I am about preaching Jesus Christ my Lord and Savior, and all that Your Word has for me. I am not about amassing wealth; I am not about having a luxurious life. I like comfort like everybody else, but I want to preach the Gospel most of all. I want to do it sensibly, in the power of the Holy Spirit, and not in my own strength. I am about lasting fruit!"~ Pastor Rick
From Sunday Mornings ~ 1 Timothy 4:1-5

SEPTEMBER 4TH
For a lost soul to face death with only this to say, "I had a good run; it was fun" is one of the stupidest things a human being could say. It is one of the dumbest epitaphs anyone could put on a tombstone! "He had a good run; he had fun"? It means he meant something finite to his playmates, but God meant nothing to him. What does that get him? Hell! That's it! To live and die caring nothing for the God who cared for you, who would want that?! Oh the terror of dying and hearing Jesus say of you to the Father, "He sought me not." ~ Pastor Rick
From Sunday Mornings ~ He Sought Me Out 2 Timothy 1:17

AUGUST 28TH
You may not always have joy in your heart. You will not always have joy in your surroundings, but you may bless His Name still! No matter what is going on in the world, no matter what Satan is doing, no matter what your flesh wants to do, the door is open to bless His Name still! ~ Pastor Rick
From Sunday Morning ~ Luke 3:16-38

AUGUST 20TH
One reason you should know that the Word of God is true is because Satan attacks it in your heart. He approaches you and says, "That's not true!" He doesn't do this with anything else as he does it with God's Word, and you who believe know what I'm talking about because you have been there. ~ Pastor Rick
From Sunday Morning ~ The Wrath of the Lamb - Revelation 6:16

AUGUST 7TH
It doesn't have to be the blood of Mom and Dad, that makes a person your brother or sister. It can be the blood of Christ. ~ Pastor Rick
From Sunday Mornings ~ He Sought Me Out 2 Timothy 1:17

JULY 31ST
Look at the prosperity movement- utter nonsense! "I want to be rich like the pastor is rich, so if I put my little seed offering in the offering box, God's going to make it grow, and I'll have a money tree in my back pocket after a while." That is greed! That is Satan talking. And whole congregations run after it. They swallow it hook, line, and sinker, rod, reel, dock, beachfront property, all of it gobbled up because they are greedy. They don't want what God wants; they want what they want in God's name, as though He were a genie in a Bible. ~ Pastor Rick
From Sunday Morning ~ Titus 1:10-16

JULY 24TH
What makes people think scientist are always honest about science? They are sinners too. Does wearing a lab coat and having a degree obligate us to bow down to everything they say? Not me! Are we to forget that they too can be and often are dishonest and wrong about science? Not me! They do get a lot right, but also a lot wrong. Much of what they say is not fact driven but agenda driven! Not all but enough of them are dishonest, immoral and mistaken enough to cause us to beware, to challenge, even defy them whenever necessary. Simply because they say it doesn't make it so. ~ Pastor Rick
From Wednesday Evening – Isaiah 36

JULY 17TH
The gullible get devoured and the lazy and distracted miss out. It takes work to follow Jesus Christ. It took a bloody cross to start Christianity, so why should we think our faith is going to be easy? ~ Pastor Rick
– From the archives

JULY 10TH
If I preach against evolution on a Sunday morning, someone is likely to approach me afterwards saying, "Well, scientists have now found new evidence ..." To which I'll reply, "No, they have not! You read that somewhere, you believed it, and you bowed down to it. Now you want me to abandon the Word of God which includes scientific fact, because you read it somewhere!" ~ Pastor Rick
From Wednesday Evening – Isaiah 36

JULY 3RD
We get so unsettled, so rocked by pebbles, tiny pebbles, even spitballs can sink our boat if we give in. It takes constant reminders, in various forms, from Scripture and pastors and friends to stay strong in the Lord. ~ Pastor Rick
From Wednesday Evening – Isaiah 36

JUNE 26TH
Unbelievers can and do look for self-control. The true believer looks for God to control. The first step is to surrender and come under the influence of the Holy Spirit through Jesus Christ. It is to agree with what the Scripture says about sin without defending one's own disobedience or the disobedience of a loved one. ~ Pastor Rick
From Sunday Mornings ~ He Sought Me Out 2 Timothy 1:17

JUNE 19TH
He says, "Beloved, while I was diligent to write to you, concerning our common salvation, I found it necessary to write to you exhorting you to contend earnestly for the faith which was once delivered to the saints" (Jude 3). There are no new Scriptures or additions to Scripture coming our way. We have all that we need already. Those within Christianity who think that they need to improve, add to, remove from or disregard Scripture must be exposed and resisted. They need to be dealt with and put out if impenitent. I think that because many churches do not preach these things, congregations just sort of roam in ignorance and fall victim to "extra Biblical" heresy. ~ Pastor Rick
From Sunday Morning ~ Titus 1:10-16

JUNE 12TH
How many times have scientists found the missing link? Do they keep losing it, then finding it again? I believe God created the physical universe billions and billions of seconds ago. Scientists inflate their numbers to fuel their lies. They do this with evolution, global warming, psychotropic drugs, anything to get their way. Every day they come out with a new deception! They don't even care, and are not bashful about being deceptive (yet some Christian's are ashamed of Christ). "We know it's a lie," the anti-Christ say amongst themselves,"but it's working for us." Yeah, because it distracts and deflects people from the truth of Jesus Christ—to those under Satan's spell, any lie about God is better than truth from God. ~ Pastor Rick
From Wednesday Evening – Isaiah 36

JUNE 5TH
Ethics of any kind should never be taught in secular universities. There should be a law against it. What they teach about ethics is how to not be ethical and get away with it. ~ Pastor Rick
From Wednesday Evening – Isaiah 36

MAY 29TH
How convenient for Satan to tell people we need to coexist in an environment where coexistence will kill everything that is righteous. Have you seen that bumper sticker: COEXIST? The person who thought that up has not a clue about the reality of one day standing before a Holy God. Yet it is a popular plea among the spiritually duped who suppose that tolerating lies from hell will somehow bring peace on earth. They assume that peace is free and lies about God are harmless if you are sincere. That nobody is going to bother you if we all just mix the false with the truth. Not true! The only ones who want to coexist are the ones who want to silence the truth about sin, its cause and its remedy. ~ Pastor Rick

Presently we have awful leadership in this country. Awful because they are immoral, base, blind, corrupt, arrogant, along with a boatload of other failed traits. My point is the relative nature of God's Word. Isaiah also faced this over 3000 years ago [cf. Isa 3:8-12], and here we are faced with the same foe: rotten leaders! I'd rather double the enemy than have bad leaders. Have enemy sleeper cells been elected to office in D.C.? ~ Pastor Rick

The covenant name of Jehovah does not belong to the Jehovah Witnesses; it belongs to the Godhead. Don't be fooled. The Jehovah’s Witnesses cannot steal the name. They can’t highjack it. It’s not their word. Just because they haven’t done the right thing with God's name, doesn’t mean we can’t use it.

Professing Christians are often quick to endorse books, viewpoints and lifestyles that disagree with Scripture. Why this is debated I do not know. It's not one for me. If it disagrees with Scripture there's no debate. It is almost perplexing to find those who think a conference must be called, that we should discuss it and try to understand, or try to catch up with the times. Forget that and the times! I belong to Jesus and His eternity! ~ Pastor Rick

I would not be surprised to be killed one day for Jesus Christ. Things sometimes seem headed that way. I'm already getting my head ready for this possibility as best I can. I don't plan to let our African brothers and sisters in Christ out die me for Christ. That's what they are doing. They are being tortured for Jesus Christ, they are watching their families being killed for Jesus Christ, and they're not backing down from their faith. I don't want to do any less should it come my turn. ~ Pastor Rick

I am for preaching grace and kindness, but not at the cost of truth- truth with grace and kindness. Some think it's not gracious to preach the blunt truths of God's word. Tough! There is this practice amongst Christians of apologizing for everything they claim to believe. Paul says to Titus, "When they come to you church, deal with them sharply, that they may be sound in the faith" [Tts 1:13]. We have a ministry of reconciliation; we're not looking to hurt anyone, but we also aren't looking to be hurt by anyone. So it's a take it or leave it deal, either you shape up or you ship out. You don't hear that anymore, because honor and duty are words that are becoming obsolete. They mean nothing. Nobody is ashamed of anything. If you look at all the revivals in history, even in the Book of Acts, sin is dealt with. Repent! It means deal with your sin. It never ends in this life, there is no way around it. Never get tired of hearing it, never get tired of understanding it. It is the key. You can reason one out of evolution, you can reason them out of anything else you want, but if you don’t deal with the sin, they will not get saved. They will not come to the Cross. The apostle Paul was chained because he was charged with being too much like the Son of God. That was the real charge. It has been the charge on every martyr that has ever been for Jesus, and it is the charge on the martyrs in jail today in Pakistan, Iran, China, and others countries. Too Christlike for comfort. So the world is known to seek their harm. Have you ever been found guilty by some child of unbelief for being too much like Jesus? Have you irritated someone for being too Christlike? Has some chain been slapped on you in the workplace, some promotion withheld from you, because you're too much like Christ? Or perhaps they think that you love Him too much? ~ Pastor Rick

I don't understand how anyone could preach that man does not have freewill. If we don't have freewill, then we are not accountable for anything. I could come to the pulpit and say, “Lord, I have a controversial issue.” I could ring my fingers and say, “How am I going to say this and come off loving, while maintaining the integrity of the Word?” I don’t have that problem. It’s God’s Word. I don’t apologize for it; He doesn’t either. It says what it says and means what it means. It’s good stuff. ~ Pastor Rick
From Sunday Mornings ~ 1 Timothy 2:8-15

JULY 24TH
Mary was the mother of Jesus, according to the flesh, and only to the flesh. It was a temporary position. She is not His mother right now. She's a created being. Luke's Gospel 1:46 reads, "Mary said: 'My soul magnifies the Lord, and my spirit has rejoiced in God my Savior. For He has regarded the lowly state of His maidservant.' " That is a confession as well as an admission that she is a sinner in need of a Savior. Non-sinners don't need a Savior. Does God need a Savior? Christ doesn't need a Savior; He is the Savior! He was sinless. All of us have sin. In her own words Mary confessed that she was a sinner. It is a doctrinal statement which means it is an official position of God, the very God that created the universe and sits on the throne. For Mary to qualify to be prayed to, she would have to be sinless, rather than a woman who confessed her need for a Savior. She has even disqualified herself. Proving that prayer to her is sin from the Scripture is like shooting ducks in the bathtub—it is that clear. The Bible condemns any idea of praying to Mary. The big difference between those who espouse goddess status to Mary and those who don't, is that one group believes Scripture alone as its final authority on doctrine (Sola Scriptura). The other group says, "We have reverence for the Bible, BUT it is our Magisterium alone who can interpret what the Bible says, and them alone." We reject this idea. It is the Holy Spirit who opens our understanding (Jn 7:38-39; Jn 14:26; Jn 17:20; Eph 2:20, et al.). It's what the Bible teaches. How convenient for anyone to arrange religion in such a way that only the "elite" can interpret (2Pe 1:20-21). That's why they used to speak in the Latin so the people couldn't understand. And then when they stopped speaking in Latin and the people began to question, they said, "You don't understand. You're not qualified." Here is what scripture says: Mary is not God the Mother. She would call it blasphemy, and she would separate from you immediately. That would be it for friendship. Instantly, she might even call the town folk around you and stone you, according to Mosaic Law. She is NOT the Co-Redemtrix. She is NOT Co-Equal with Christ, executing redemption for the lost. She would rebuke such notions instantly. Mary is one of us, a sinner saved by the grace of God and by the love of Jesus Christ.~ Pastor Rick

Brothers, you say, "Women are causing me to stumble!" Yeah, well that might be, but you're still going to be held accountable if you fall, and so is she. What do you suggest, dress codes in church? As soon as you go out to a store, or drive around town, do you think you're going to be shielded from temptation? You better learn how to stand and fight! ~ Pastor Rick

From Sunday Mornings ~ 1 Timothy 2:8-15

JULY 4TH
The first sinner was a woman, but by a woman the Savior came into the world. That is the mercy of God. That should invigorate women. If women were unimportant or not so important, or any variation thereof, we wouldn't have many of the problems we have. This is no slight against women. My point is, Samson fell because of a woman;t that's how much influence they can have. Now what they do with it is up to them. ... Esther, on the other hand, used her influence as a woman to save her people. So it's what you do with your gender. Don't for one minute say that being a woman is trivial. You are equal in value, equal in importance, yet your role is not the same as men. If you think for one minute that you can just do whatever you want to do as a woman and there are no consequences, you are a fooling yourself. Your role is imperative; it is equal with the men though not identical. Just mess it up and find out how serious a business it is. No woman should ever suppose that she is a second citizen in God's kingdom. You're a first citizen. Equal! He died for you too! ~ Pastor Rick

To have a Savior, is to have sin. Personal sin. Yours, forget about everybody else's; you've got it. You are a leper. That's what a sinner is in the eyes of God. Therefore we need to be cleansed. MAY 2ND
The Holy Spirit remains the silent witness of the Trinity. Why? It is because God knows that we are prone to wrong worship. So the Holy Spirit operates in the background, otherwise we would end up worshipping the Holy Spirit while slighting the One who died for us on the cross. In fact many have long since drawn inordinate attention to the Holy Spirit while almost ignoring Jesus Christ. Still others have, for example, blasphemed God by praying to Mary, relegating the Son of God to a secondary position in their hearts. Thus the Holy Spirit is the silent witness, and we are delighted with this. It is beautiful when understood. ~ Pastor Rick
From Sunday Mornings: 1 Timothy 1:1-3

APRIL 25TH
These verses (2Th 1:6-9) are very clear.  The destiny of the wicked is something that is horrible and AVOIDABLE. Were it just horrible, then we might question God’s judgment, His severity, His wrath. The judgment of God is Hell! Careless sinners have so overworked the word Hell that they suppose it's doable, if real at all. For instance, “See you in hell!” What a fool! You won’t see anybody in hell; by definition blindness belongs to hell (See Mt 22:13). There are no exits in hell, but one can avoid entering this eternal pit by coming to Christ alone for redemption. ~ Pastor Rick
From Sunday Mornings ~ 2 Thessalonians 1:5-12

Universities, not to mention the entertainment industry and others, are devilish competitors for authority in our families. As such, they rage against Grandpa and Grandma, Dad and Mom. They are too dumb to listen to; you need to come to us. We'll set you straight. Such are their real thoughts. They want to own our children and grandchildren (having aborted many of their own). We see the systematic employment of Satan's humanistic philosophies that reduce the value of grandparents and parents alike. The Bible tells us that grandchildren are a blessing to grandparents, that children are a blessing to parents (cf. Pr 17:6), so children's children are the crown of old men. We say to them, repent or remain accursed! ~  Pastor Rick
From Wednesday Evenings~ Proverbs 17

APRIL 11TH
Luke writes in the Book of Acts about a big book burning event. Writing books back then was very profitable, much like today. In fact so profitable that when the new converts brought occultic books to be burned, they counted up the value. Luke then adds: So the word of the Lord grew mightily and prevailed. Prevailed over what? All the junk that was in the books they were burning. All the other ideas about God, the spiritual world, human behavior, and everything else concerning men's souls. That's what the word of God prevailed over. Too often today we see those who say they are Christians always looking to mingle what the world has to say with what Christ has said. They are looking to stick their hands in the fire to pull out one of those burning books and mix it in with Scripture. ~ Pastor Rick

MARCH 28TH
We don’t want the world to accuse Christ of leaving Christians ill-equipped. But that’s what happens when we stop minding our business as the Christians we are supposed to be and instead start identifying with the world in Jesus’ name. Our testimony crumbles. Take a group of unbelievers, with a Christian who hangs out with them on a regular basis. Satan is going to target that Christian, not the unbelievers. He doesn’t have to work on them for now; they are on cruise control. It’s the Christian he wants to get at, so he can besmirch the name of Christ and keep unbelievers lost. ~ Pastor Rick

"Nothing can separate me from the love of Christ." Not because I love Him so much, or am so determined, but because He loves me so much and He is determined. If it were dependent upon my love and determination, I would be lost. But it rests upon our relationship; it's a mutual agreement. I accept His invitation and submit to His Lordship in love. I want this. I crave it. That’s what makes the believer a Christian.~ Pastor Rick
From Sunday Mornings ~ 2 Thessalonians 1:5-12

MARCH 7TH
Liking or disliking the idea of God's wrath will not make it go away; accept it. Likewise, we may or may not care for His love, but it's there nonetheless. We can avoid His wrath by receiving His love, or we can encounter His wrath by rejecting His love—these are His terms—take it or leave it, but no one can undo it. ~ Pastor Rick

Suffering is not always evidence that God is against us or punishing us. Not at all. Life and circumstances befall everyone in this fallen world, and thus we suffer; nobody escapes. If suffering was something that only happens to the guilty then how is it that Christ suffered for us? He was holy and innocent, yet suffered; even before He got to the cross. ~ Pastor Rick
From Sunday Mornings ~ 2 Thessalonians 1:5-12

FEBRUARY 14TH
Evolutionists look at God's creation and say to God, "You did not build that." We heard a president make such a silly statement against those who have achieved success. But it's far worse when directed against God. What restrains God; why does He delay judgment? Grace! He's just as gracious as He is just.~ Pastor Rick
From Sunday Mornings ~ 2 Thessalonians 1:5-12

FEBRUARY 7TH
Samson is a character that reminds every man, "You could fall like Samson." In fact you could be worse than Samson! You could have none of his strengths and all of his weaknesses. Then it says, "Afterward it happened that he loved a woman named Delilah." This love was an animal sort of love. Certainly not a righteous love. He loved Delilah in an animal sort of way and it stripped him of his sense of righteousness and the high sanctities of life that he was born into. It is a very sad day when a servant of the Lord feels it is necessary to go in amongst the enemies in order to have a good time. That was Samson. Completely opposite of what God called him to be. In fact Sorek, where he lived, means choice vine. There’s a message in this. Being a Nazirite since birth, he was to have nothing to do with the vine. What was he doing in the valley of Sorek? The same thing he was doing in the vineyard when he met with the lion. God was telling him all along the way, "You don’t belong here." “But I love her,” Samson would say. "But don’t you love me?" God would ask. “Yes" he would answer. "You will forgive me, but I have got to have this right now.” It finished him off. She did, along with the barber of Sorek, and the rest of the Philistines that put out his eyes, and subjected him to shameful behavior of grinding grain. What a waste. All because he would not say no to his cravings.

JANUARY 31ST
God will never excuse you; you are a sinner. You might as well face it. You can’t stand before him and say you’re not! It cost His Son’s blood to get you forgiven, and unless you repent you will perish. Our repentance is on the strength of this understanding: that God does not take justice lightly, nor does He dispense mercy foolishly. We are never excused but we can be forgiven in Christ alone. Once we get this understanding inside of us we become more effective as believers. Too often our effectiveness is greatly diminished by our hurt feelings. We have all gotten our feelings hurt. It can be difficult to forgive the one who hurt us. Some forgive on the outside but not inside. Some forgive because they have the power of God in them, and others don’t forgive. ~ Pastor Rick
From: Sunday Morning ~ 1 Thessalonians 3:6-13

JANUARY 24TH
God has a history of allowing His servants to suffer, and His servants have a history of allowing Him to allow them to suffer. Those outside of Christ also have a history of suffering, and that is all! That's the end of it; their sufferings are spent and no more. Yes, tribulation is in this life. Jesus said, "In the world you will have much tribulation, but be of good cheer, I have overcome the world." He meant, Be strong; you can't be of good cheer if you are weak in spirit. In Christ you have life eternal in the heavens that does not fail! Out of Christ you have nothing! ~ Pastor Rick

The world is a dangerous place, and the devil is a dirty fighter. Never forget these two things, because when you do, you will become confused about God; thinking it's God doing whatever things to you, because He’s allowed it? Together these two (the world and the devil) gang up on your thoughts and feelings until finally your behavior is all wrong and your testimony is ruined. This is how good men and women fall. ~ Pastor Rick

God is merciful whether there are sinners to share it, see it, or receive it. With or without sinners, He is merciful. But there are sinners, and we sinners get to see and receive His mercy—on us! Blind Bartimaeus: he’s sort of a question mark on the wisdom and goodness of God. There he sat. Is God good? Look at him. Not only is he begging and smelling, but he is blind. Is God wise? Is this the wise behavior of someone who is supposed to be omnipotent? Some are stumped by this. Many try to use such circumstances as their excuse, so they can continue in sin. “See, that’s why I don’t believe in God because He lets these things happen." They begin going down the trail of dictating terms to God. "If you want to be my God, here’s what you have to do… if you’re not taller than this mark then you can’t be my God." He doesn’t want to be your God if you are dictating to Him. He will be your judge. ~ Pastor Rick

Satan is here to lie about everything. He’s here to lie about God. He’s here to lie about man, and he’s here to lie about himself. Anytime you see someone treating Satan as someone to dress up as, you see someone who has fallen for the lie; they’ve drunk the Kool-Aid. They believe he’s harmless which is quite satisfying to Satan. ~ Pastor Rick

Unbelievers may say, "I’ve gotten this far in life without Jesus Christ." Well you can go all the way through this life without Jesus Christ, but that's as far as you can go. Because at death, whatever it is that got you all the way here, will get you nowhere there in the next life. ~ Pastor Rick

The world, in her list of religions, includes everything from pagan environmentalism (the worship of created things but not the Creator), all the way to you name it. Her list includes false Christianity, i.e. apostasy, and churchianity, Churchianity is defined by those who come to church but not for Christ. Careless about Him, unmindful, not submitted to Him, but still insist on using His name, still telling others, "I go to church, I'm a Christian." Meanwhile nothing in their hearts moves toward Him! ~ Pastor Rick

A common practice is, if you don't like what God says, then deny that it is God Who says it. Deny the evidence. Many do it If someone is engaged in some sexual sin, e.g., homosexuality, the flavor of the day, rather than saying yes, the Bible condemns this, they say, No, the Bible doesn't say that, and if it does it doesn't mean it because I don't like it. Shame on you whoever you are from pastor to parishioner if you do this. ~ Pastor Rick

We are not here to be social activist but witness of Jesus Christ. Christ has placed the church in the center, when the center is made strong it influences and strengthens the circumference. It radiates from the church, the center (not off center). It spreads righteousness and truth. "Faithful are the wounds of a friend, deceitful are the kisses of an enemy." The church has no business telling a fallen world that it is upright. She must say, Repent therefore and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out, open your heart to Christ. It may offend the guilty, but it's the only cure. ~ Pastor Rick

NOVEMBER 8TH
Pharaoh's land was not for the redeemed; it was now the old life. It is the same for the Christian, Pharaoh's land is the old life, the land of bondage. It can never be our home. We have new life; forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching to those things which are ahead. For the Christian to go back to the world for help on spiritual and behavioral matters is like going back to Egypt. Never again can we celebrate Passover in Egypt? ~ Pastor Rick

Remember as we are learning through the scripture, God is not angry with you when you fail, He doesn’t suck his teeth, get disgusted with you and say, "How many times do we have to go over this, weren’t you there Sunday?" No, He simply encourages us to push forward.  ~ Pastor Rick

"Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly ... teaching and admonishing one another" Col 3:16. When it comes to husbands and wives, learning and admonishing one another, those in their 30’s and 40’s, when you see Christians in their 60’s, 70’s and 80’s still married, still walking in the Spirit, you are being admonished; you are being taught and invited. Learn something.
You older Christians who are in your 60s, 70s, and 80’s, walking in the Spirit, you are examples. BE IT! ~ Pastor Rick

To forgive others we must practice our faith all the time, not only when it is convenient for us. If we say, “I cannot forgive!” it's because our feelings have taken control, fed by our memory. The result is the Devil wins again! Low grade Christianity prevails. ~Pastor Rick

SEPTEMBER 27TH
Unfortunately, too much that needs to be said doesn’t get said in churches. It is as though there was a grand cover-up. "Oh let's not tell anyone they’re sinning while they’re sinning; they might fix it [sarcasm]!" You know, to fix sin we’re going to have to take a hit or two. ~Pastor Rick
From: Sunday Mornings ~ Colossians 3:13-17

Meaningful Christian fellowship is built on Christ's love. Christ says, "with longsuffering, bearing with one another in love." To do this we must have contact with each other. True Christian fellowship is a powerful weapon which too often the church spoils by limiting it to a social thing, and while there are social elements to it, it is more. Christians who serve in the church are typically much stronger than had they not served, and are typically much stronger than those who don't serve in the fellowship. Service makes it more than social; it makes us strong. ~ Pastor Rick

A critical part of faith is loyalty, but loyalty without courage cannot survive. Loyalty must have courage. It must be brave enough to stand by what it believes, especially when under pressure; otherwise it's just a theory. For example, our marriage vows make this declaration: "I am loyal to you." Fidelity is about loyalty. I am loyal to God, I am loyal to my vows, and I am loyal to my spouse. This takes courage. So when something comes along to chase me away from my beliefs through temptation or dissatisfaction, etc., am I brave enough to stand up to it? What else should we be preaching? ~Pastor Rick

Christians are concerned about our children going off to colleges and universities which have become the churches and synagogues of Satan. Beyond an education in the field of their choice, they get the world's doctrines, or rather indoctrination. Pastors and Christians must say to our scholars, “Look, if you are going to throw your faith away, throw it away. That’s you; that ain't me. I've done all I can for you. Preached to you, raised you up, pointed you in the right direction and treated you with respect, then let you go. If you’re going to be dumb enough, gullible enough, fool enough to toss your faith away for words of Satan’s synagogue, do it. But don’t expect me to feel sorry for you." Well we can’t say that because we do feel sorry. It hurts. Hurts to see Satan appear to win. Hurts to see evil get away with so much. Young scholars, "by faith you stand". 2Co 1:24 ~ Pastor Rick

There is an alarming practice circulating through Christianity that if we uphold the severity of God's word then we are not showing God's love. God is NOT the author of this. For it is not disobedient love that saves lost souls, it is the conviction of the Holy Spirit as declared in John 16:8, "And when He has come, He will convict the world of sin, and of righteousness, and of judgment." Conviction leads to love when the Holy Spirit falls upon the sinner who receives Jesus Christ. Thus "The fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge, but fools despise wisdom and instruction." Proverbs 1:7.
If we want to be used by God to save souls from an eternal hell then we must tell the truth of the Eternal God, in love, our love must not hide the word of God under a shrub or anything else! By His Hand may we endeavor to uphold His truth no matter what. ~ Pastor Rick, from my heart.

Unbelievers would get pretty upset if Christians were to go into their saloons and preach the Word of God. I understand and I accept this. What I can’t understand and accept is why Christians and non-Christians alike (not all of them) get upset at God’s Word being preached in God’s House! In Church they are surprised to hear the truth! “I was offended!” one says. That’s because you’re guilty and unmoved by the truth at the same time; such guilty people get offended. ~ Pastor Rick

Especially you young adults ... Is Jesus real to you? I often ask this because I am afraid that your Faith is going to be borrowed from your family, and is not your own. That you are just going through the motions, because it's how you were raised. But do you have a relationship with Christ, personally, do you talk to Jesus Christ directly? If your Mom and Dad became apostates would you still follow Jesus Christ or would you go right behind them? You have to answer this for yourself, but answer you must. ~ Pastor Rick

AUGUST 15TH
Paul wrote the Roman letter from Corinth, perhaps looking from his window, or maybe just returning from the market, either way, heavy on his mind was the behavior of the people in society. As he writes the letter, ever mindful of the filth outside, which he knows is in Rome too, and every other place on Earth. He draws a great distinction between the child of God, who has the wisdom and righteousness of Christ upon them, verses those who do not. Paul says, "those who advocate these sinful things, though they don’t do it, they’re guilty because they advocate them" [Ro 1:32 paraphrased]. We hear people say, "Well I’m not a homosexual, but I think everyone should do whatever they want." Then they're an advocate, they’re guilty. “You’re a bigot!” they would say to me, "That’s right, I’m a bigot. I’m big on being against sin." Unchecked sin destroys society. History records it and the Word of God thunders this truth, in love, in kindness without ever backing down. We don't need to be perfect to stand for that which is perfect. ~ Pastor Rick

Burning lust, it is driven by the kingdom of self. Wrong desires before God. We all have them, all the codes are in us. What Jesus Christ gives us is an effective system to face and stop them. We are the salt of the earth: Guess what? We too are on the earth! That same salt is supposed to be applied in our own lives, to our own hearts, first. ~ Pastor Rick

How many of us are afraid to talk about hell to a lost soul? We don't want to tell them they are going to hell. But they're going to hell! We believe this, but we don't want to tell them. Why? "I'm afraid they won't like me anymore." This is dangerous ground. While we should not preach about hell until we are led to preach about it, if we are led to and we don't because we are afraid, then we are wrong! There's no power of Christ in this. What are we doing for the unbeliever if we are holding back the truth? This is not Seeker Friendly, this is self friendly. All because we don't want the friction.  ~ Pastor Rick

Our old testament ends with the word "curse". Because that is all the law can do to you is curse you. The Law is the microscope; it doesn't have any cure. It says "Hey look at that, you've got it!" and it walks away; doesn't provide a solution. But John the Baptist said "The Lamb of God who takes away the sin." Jesus is the solution.  ~ Pastor Rick

The turnout of saints to bear witness to today's water Baptism was a pleasant surprise and encouragement.
The privilege of baptizing these four young Jesus lovers was special for me, having watched these disciples of Christ for over a decade as they patiently waited for the Lord's leading then forward they stepped and into the water they went. A public display of their faith. Three of them are attending university and have not only held to the faith but are expanding in the faith. The fourth is a veteran teen camp attendee and serious servant—I'm not boasting about them I am rejoicing in my Saviors work! May they be immersed in His Holy Spirit, amen. ~ Pastor Rick

JULY 18TH
Why come to church if you want to hear a lie? Unfortunately, many churches have gotten themselves in debt and they can't afford to lose people so they lie to them; tell them what they want to hear. It keeps the sanctuary full and the tithe box loaded, and they live happily ever after... they think. That's not how we do it. ~ Pastor Rick

I think there were dog soldier Indians amongst the Cheyenne. They would tie a leather strap around their waist and stake it to the ground, so it would make it impossible to retreat. We could learn from that. We could learn about staking ourselves to the ground for a Jesus who staked himself to the cross on our behalf. ~ Pastor Rick

The very people that contributed to the building of the ark, perished because they refused to get on it. Not only did Noah preach, but every tree that fell in the forest, and every echo from every hammer preached the coming judgement of God. It was a loud call to men. How many times in our generation is a person entitled to hear the gospel and reject it? ~ Pastor Rick

There is a toleration which is treachery. There is a peace which issues in paralysis. There are hours when the Church must say NO to those who should ask communion with her, in the doing of her work, upon the basis of compromise. Such standing aloof may produce ostracism and persecution, but it will maintain power and influence...The reason why men do not look to the Church today is that she has destroyed her own influence by compromise.
A quote from G Campbell Morgan ~ Pastor Rick

JUNE 20TH
God's Word is True! And I will preach God's Word. We Christians; do we do that? Or have we made alliances with people who really don't like Jesus too much? They are a little bit uncomfortable when you talk about Him. And we've made such alliances with them - be it in business; be it in the neighborhood; be it where ever it is; and now we've lost our edge. We've lost that zeal. There's not fire flowing through our blood anymore - it's oatmeal.~ Pastor Rick

Many Christians who want peace, don't understand that in this life peace comes through warfare. Peace comes through standing up to that which is false, because that which is false takes away the peace. So many Christians fall into this trap of thinking that unity and love are more important than truth, but the Bible never presents it that way.
The Bible makes it clear that without truth there is no unity without truth there is no love. ~ Pastor Rick

In response to any silly notion that somehow Christ and His word are to conform to some image of cultural relevancy, the Holy Spirit has preserved the Colossian letter.

• Col 2 – The Everlasting Relevance of His Word
• Col 3 – The Enduring Relevance of Our Obedience
